OUR TAKE / EDITORIAL OPINION
Unattended liquidity work needs explicit stop conditions
Boltz Client is an operations component whose exception handling should matter as much as its automation.
Boltz Client provides a CLI and daemon for CLN or LND channel rebalancing and swap workflows. Our thesis is that unattended rebalancing should begin with a written explanation of when to stop. A node operator should be able to state the intended liquidity outcome, the acceptable cost, and the conditions requiring attention. Only then would we judge how conveniently the client can express that policy.
This looks most relevant to an operator who already understands their channel requirements and wants repeatable execution of a defined routine. The tradeoff is less repetitive intervention against the effort of maintaining sensible operating boundaries. We would choose a narrow initial policy and review its proposed actions before allowing it to become ordinary background work. Activity alone would not be our measure of success.
A useful evaluation would include unavailable swap service, insufficient capacity, and an interrupted client. Those are proposed scenarios, not observed defects. We would inspect how the operator learns about each outcome and reconciles any completed steps. Our preference is for automation that can be suspended and explained clearly. Boltz Client should serve a known liquidity policy rather than become the place where that policy is improvised.

What is documented about AI?
Official client documentation reviewed describes swap and node automation features, not AI features.
“No AI documented” means the checked sources do not establish an AI feature. It does not prove that the product uses no AI.

Checked 2026-10-08: MIT-licensed code is available. Channel rebalancing requires a supported node; the repository also documents a node-free payment path. Swap, routing, hosting and on-chain costs vary and were not verified.
